Supervisor – Auto Workshop

Main Duties:

Supervise & manage daily repairs of vehicles as per job card, opening & closing of job cards
to be done for all daily jobs.
Responsible for vehicle fault assessment, spare parts requirement etc.
Should be technically sound so as to get hands-on involved in vehicle repairs as & when
required in the job.
Should be capable enough to read the mechanical / hydraulic / electrical circuit of a vehicle
under repair.
Coordinate with shop floor technicians about the requirement of spare parts, inspect it &
request the desired spare parts for vehicle under repair to Workshop Manager or
management Rep.
Ensure timely request of spare parts required for fixing a breakdown vehicle to procurement
team.
Ensure vehicle turnaround efficiently.
Identify opportunities & implement continuous improvement activity in the Auto Workshop.
Maintain Health & Safety precautions in the Auto Workshop.
Overall supervision of daily workshop Jobs.
Liaise closely with the Workshop Manager regarding daily job cards and assignments of
works that are opened and that have been done & closed.
Ensure safe & timely & cost-effective maintenance of Auto Workshop equipment, fixtures &
fittings including tools.
Ensure Auto Workshop hygiene is maintained & the workshop yard & bays are tidy at all
times.
Make sure correct spare parts are requested after liaising with the team.
Follow-up out of town breakdowns in coordination with Workshop Manager, guide driver &
technician if required on phone call about the breakdown & try taking the breakdown
vehicle to Auto workshop for repair without unnecessary delays.

Requirements:

10+ years of experience as an Auto workshop supervisor or similar role.
Diploma or certificate course in Mechanical or Automotive Engg.
Hands-on experience in repair & overhauling of engine & gearbox.
Should be physically fit & be regular at work.
Ability of using vehicle fault diagnostic devices & using computer for making daily work
reports.
Team player with good communication skills.
