Job description:

To safely operate Motor Grader equipment on which he/she is trained on and permitted according to the approved Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.

• Ensure the motor grader cuts material to required levels as per the design in readiness for final cutting
• Ensure that the prestart check-list is completed and submitted to PIC
• Ensure good house-keeping around the machine work area and within the machine for good health and safety practice
• Follow manufacturers operating manuals to ensure correct operation of the Motor Grader
• Obey all site specific and general signage on and off the mine lease
• Report all defects of the Motor Grader to the PIC
• Comply to all reasonable instructions respective supervisor within laid down procedure and regulations.
• Perform other related duties that may be required

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of a Grade Twelve (Grade 12) Certificate

EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in the field

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Standby work required
• Overtime when necessary
• Exposure to dust, heat and noise
