Operations Assistant

Our client is looking for a Operations Assistant to join their team.

The posiion shall be aligned to the organisation’s objectives to be reviewed through Performance Management system.

Responsibilities:

• Weekend Offloading — effectively organise that inbound and outbound trucks are offloaded
  throughout the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and clearly communicate information regarding
  that with the rest of the team
• Ensure required arrangements are in place at all times for timely loading / offloading of cargo
  (weekend/public holidays etc…) in Lusaka / other locations.
• Update Customer specific delivery details when needed and/or required with the use of systems.
• Data quality of real-time Accurate system Updates — systematically and accurately update systems with accurate real time driver and fleet information ensuring any extra-ordinary situations are clearly outlined and communicated therein.
• Driver Management – effectively oversee all drivers / driver related issues that encompass driver briefing and debriefing, disciplinary actions and deductions with a focus on driver accountability as well as the ability to attract the respect of drivers by a correct and fair attitude.
• Driver Change —institute driver changes based on communication and e and ensure truck handover document signed for.
• Scanning Documents— scan documents to Chirundu Border Offices for pre-clearance.
• Photocopying- photocopy driver documents as fast as possible with the goal of ensuring all drivers spend minimal time in office;

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Transport and Logistics or related field
• 3 years in a transport and logistics company and should be a member of the Zambia Institute of Logistics & transport.
