ABOUT CFHRZ

Center for Family Health Research in Zambia (CFHRZ) is a non-governmental organization which is part of the Rwanda Zambia Health Research Group (RZHRG). RZHRG is composed of three research sites located in Kigali, Rwanda (Center for Family Health Research),Lusaka and Ndola, Zambia (Center for Family Health Research in Zambia).

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking dedicated and highly skilled individuals that we can identify and recruit for our current job openings to support our various fields of work. CFHRZ is an equal opportunities employer to all individuals seeking employment. The jobs listed below are based in Lusaka and Ndola.

1. RESEARCH NURSES (2 Lusaka, 2 Ndola)

The desired candidates will be responsible for:

  • Assessing and Enrolling individuals or couples into research studies and obtain informed consent according to ICH-GCP guidelines.
  • Effectively treat common illnesses in both HIV-infected and non-infected participants
  • Perform physical exams on participants when indicated and monitor vital signs and measurements.
  • Effectively counsel participants in family planning and demonstrate competency in insertions & removals of LARC methods (particularly copper IUDs and implants)
  • Sympathetically counsel participants during times of stress
  • Respect the confidentiality of participants and data at all times.
  • Collection of blood and other research samples when indicated
  • Administration of trial medication
  • Participants’ follow-up activities
  • Reporting any protocol deviation immediately to the PI or their designee
  • Performance of quality control of study activities
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor

The ideal qualifications for this role are listed below:

  • Degree or Diploma in nursing with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia or Zambia Counselling Council
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant working experience.
  • Must be able to learn new procedures and follow standard operating procedures whilst adhering to Good Clinical Practice.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, ability to manage time and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to communicate in English and one or more local languages
  • Experience in public health research or clinical trials will be an added  advantage.
  • Certificate in Good Clinical Practice will be an added advantage. The successful applicant will still undergo GCP training at the site
  • Demonstrated experience in working with key populations.
  • Maintain appropriate working relationships between study team member
  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently
  • Computer literacy
  • Must be willing to work long hours

2. DATA TECHNICIANS  (1 Lusaka, 1 Ndola)

The primary responsibilities for this position include:

  • Perform data entry in Access and via electronic data capture systems for studies
  • Perform and resolve data queries with lab and medical department
  • Verify participants onsite daily via data collected to reimbursement payout
  • Perform quality control of data
  • Perform data upload of dat
  • Provide feedback to study team on any data related issues
  • Provide IT support to all CFHRZ staff computers, printers, and laptops. Maintains server, addresses/resolves any problems related to ISP connection
  • Carries out other IT duties as assigned.

Qualifications required for the position:

  • Certificate in MS Office, IT Networking, Hardware Maintenance, others relevant to IT support
  • Computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Access preferred
  • Minimum of Diploma in I.T, Computer Science, Electronics
  • Excellent interpersonal/communications (verbal, oral, written & electronic) skill
  • Attention to detail and great organizational skills
  • Ability to work on many tasks simultaneously
  • Adaptability to the changing demands of a high-pressure, time-sensitive work environment
  • Previous data entry experience is preferable
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience

3.  ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT (1 Lusaka)

Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Manages Petty Cash
  • Organize invoices, prepare payment vouchers and cheques to be signed by approved signatories.
  • Organize, file and scan back up documentation for organization purchases.
  • Assist with maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
  • Inventory/Asset Tracking
  • Preparation of audit schedules and work closely with the internal or external auditors to ensure the completion of a timely audit

Qualifications required for the position:

  • Must have at least ZICA CA level I Certification or equivalent.
  • Must be a valid member of ZICA
  • Must possess a full Grade 12 Certificate
  • Experience in using an ERP accounting package preferably Sage 300 will be an added advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Willingness to learn and quickly grasp new concepts
  • At least one year work experience
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
